Photo shoot Recap - Lucy -

I've been on the assignment of series to photograph creative woman and her home from last year. At first,it was 1 time only shoot, then this article got lots of great feed back, so magazine decided to expand this projects more.  I love this assignment and enjoying a lot. So far i've been inspired by all these ladies/subjects, which is the fact of meeting people i would have not if I were not a photographer, nor having this assignment. Also I love photographing people in their own environment. I love environment portrait.
Having "minimalism" sense from japanese culture influence a lot, on the other hands, I'm also big fun of crazy detail photo that lots of things are going on. It's like puzzle for me and especially little detail of house, things.. whatever if it's very unique and interesting, which usually has great stories behind.. i get so excite.  anyway..
So here's one of my subject, Ann's house and this little beauty who's seriously aiming wood rifle in this photo is her daughter Lucy. She was actually great model all day that i ended up photographing her a lot too.  This entrance area was filled with all these Ann's collections of vintage western items for kids which I do love. I wanted to photograph this area with lucy wearing one of those from collection. Then i found this wood rifle, so let Lucy have it... she got so into it and here she comes!  Western spirit !!
Ann has a store/clothing brand  on Topanga Canyon Dr. called "Pebbles". Not only her vintage collection but her clothing line is super cute and there's lots of cute little things in the store. Please drop by when you have chance.
From this shoot, I got into learning about topanga canyon's history and all.. I ended up going back there on Earth day weekend. It's very close from my house and i'm planning to enjoy these beautiful nature more often.

Antwan Dixon photo on Keiko Tsukada's blog!

Keiko (tsukada) is Los Angeles Base writer. Since we worked for Blue Note Japan's assignment, we have worked together couple of times.

She texted me when she got appointment to interview Antwuan Dixon! I met him when he was about to be a pro. I remember he was super nice kid, althought I didn't have chance to photograph him.
Now he's established pro for couple of years later, I wanted see and photograph him.

Keiko wrote about it on her blog, which is very good blog. So go check !
