2014 Inspiration's official Shot is up now.  I've been photographing very random shots at Inspiration LA from its very first year at Santa Monica Banker.  Every year, once in a year, I meet people, most likely exhibitor and visitors who are vintage enthusiast. It's so nice to meet each of them at this event that becoming one of my another fun factor.     These photos are very selected from thousand of different moments. Odd Future Carnival Reportage on FLJ Magazine

FLJ magazine just published on 30th January issue. these are photographs from Odd future Carnival, held in Last November at historical The Forum.  Focused on people who attend and enjoyed this amazing music / carnival / skate park / etc etc events as cultural point.  Kids were so positive and everybody was having awesome time. One of amazing events to be at.  Huge thanx to Mr.Ohno to support what i love to do. Managements of OF crew. Artists. and all kids who let me photograph with full of positive energy!

Travel Zine "Jones" by Beams published!

I had great opportunity to photograph for Travel Zine "Jones" by Beams Japan in Portland.  This is 3rd issue (first- hawaii, second- Tokyo) that cover Portland and SF, based on concept of a guy name "JONES" travel to the place and dig the place, from famous sight seeing spot to local recommend hidden gem.

I met lots of people thru this shoot, so went to places in Portland that wanna make me go back and dig more personally.  Huge thanx to Mr. Kei & Shun. Beams Crew, Evan to be 'Jones', Johnny lee and Portland Loco who gave us a lot of info.

Recap "Fabulous LA" on Glitter Magazine Part-3

Here's last 2 pages of "Fabulous LA" story on Glitter Magazine with Ms. Ann, the owner of Pebbles and Ms. Ashley.   Ann's house has quite history that used to be Charlie Chaplin's house & also dance hall(at current living room area) back then. I didn't know Topanga was the hide away for the Hollywood MGM/Tokie Movie Era's movie stars.  Since i love to cruise Topanga Canyon Dr., these historical story she knows really excited me and drew me to its history.   Then Ashley's house is 1920's house that has beautiful detail and unique features.   Through this story, i had such a fun to be at each characteristic houses with lots of interesting stories behind.  Huge thanks to Ms.Ann and her amazing family. Ms. Ashley whom I met at Flea Market !! 

Web Update - New Photo Essay "Construct" -

Just published new photo essay on my website, "Construct" under my Portfolio section.
This is series of photos from the shoot at Heritage Leather Factory in Vernon, CA.
 It was filled with lots of texture of leather, also the stuffs that comes with years of work and great smell of leather. People who works there welcomed me so nice, their hand-made process made me even more excite.  Please enjoy viewing.

I had the opportunity to photograph beautiful Ms. Kim Kanner and her gorgeous crib , published in Glitter Magazine.    

As extension of my favorite thing, environment portrait, last couple of years, i realized I started developing interests to their dwell itself.. interior, furniture, gardening and etc.  I still consider myself as portrait photographer, Yet, I also love to photograph interior and all. This projects were part of another favorite type of shoot that you shoot couples of environmental portrait and interiors.   Huge thanks to Ms. Kim Kanner for her hospitality and support. 

Black Scale x FLJ Magazine Published

I recently had another opportunity to work with Black Scale crew for FLJ magazine on their July 30th Issue, photographed their 2013 Fall lines with their close friend/R&B singer, writer & producer, Kevin Roosevelt and Geoff from black Scale Crew.   This coming September, They are going to open the new store in Tokyo, Japan & these 4pages feature goes to the interview article of Mega, the creator of Black Scale.   Kevin's hidden jam surrounded by greens that i even can't imagine it's 10min away from hollywood blvd craze. I had inspired and fun.   

Houyhnhnm + Beams Project part-3 Portland

I had this amazing opportunity to go Portland and being part of  project with Web Magazine,  Houyhnhnm and the select shop,  Beams in Japan, here's  PORTLAND story on Houyhnhnm.
This was my very first trip to Portland, that wanted to visit so bad since became fan of  TV Show "Portlandia".   Although this trip was just 2.5 days short,  I had amazing encounters ...   handmade soap maker "Maak"  that their little factory looks like something mixture of "chemistry classroom meet kitchen" yet very organic. Their package is also all hand-made, everything has very warm feel everywhere and more than anything, their soap smells so good, Smells like real forests.   Then  "Wood & Faulk" that is leather brand who also share the same floor with Maak, has lots of authentic warm hand-made leather products with amazing smell of wood and leather!  I loved how they decorate their working spaces that every little things got something.   Then,  OMFG design farm that their office is another photogenic place . I could see full of their D.I.Y. spirit, concept-wise, item-wise include beautiful vintage press machine that they actually use.  It was another inspiration.  Then outdoor brand, Poler that one of the owner, Benji is also photographer that his inspiration board and things around desk were pure excitements, so does their visual.  Of course, their products looks so good too.     Then Cameron's book store that has lots of vintage and used magazines and books.. I loved old style fonts  at their front window and its coloring.  Meeting "Kinfolk" magazine's crew at their office was also obviously inspirational.
These shots were taken everywhere any moments whatever i found while I was with Beams buyer's crew and an editor of Houyhnhnm.  It was like being on road trip, not only having my main camera but use canon G11, snapping around very casually, enjoyed talking with loco that seemed like enjoys talking with stranger like me & somehow i felt there're  tendency to get longer conversation with them compare with LA...
It was one of amazing  project. Being spontaneous,  shooting some things, streets, foods, people.. dog or dogs & owners who looks a like, interior, building and everything. One of dream assignment.
